Being born and raised in San Diego was such a gift. I was very oblivious to how great we had it compared to East Coast weather. Even though I did learn a lot about American history elementary school, because DC, Maryland, Virginia and the Carolinas were so far away from California, I couldn't relate as well and picture in my head how fascinating history really is until I moved to the East Coast, where my husband's family is from.
All around are histories sites of when some of the famous battles took place and the declaration of independent took place on the East Coast. It's amazing to be on this side of the country and I am so grateful that my husband has so much loving and supportive family members who have helped us start a new life here.

She started this blog when she was still just a girlfriend of her sweet sailor. After dating for 1 year and 4 months, the sailor proposed to her and they got married 7 months later. He got out of the military 3 months after they wed when his contract ended. Her husband served in the military for 10 years.
