COACH Pave Horse and Carriage Stud Earrings Review in Rosegold (Pink)

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, December 5, 2016,
See my review of COACH Pave Horse and Carriage Stud Earrings. They are asymmetrical so one earring is different from the other. One is the horse and the other is the carriage. They were available in gold or rosegold (pink) and I got the rose gold. They were regular price at $65 but I got them for 30% off on Black Friday. I think they were worth it even though it looked strange with one ear not looking like the other.

David's Bridal Wedding Gown Preservation Kit Review

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Wednesday, April 8, 2015,
Finally after two years from my wedding day, I've decided it's time to finally wash and preserve my wedding gown! I know it's gross that I didn't get it dry-cleaned right after my wedding, but it wasn't that dirty and I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars of getting it dry-cleaned when I can do that with David's Bridal for cheaper (plus get it preserved at the same time)!

Usually, I would go online and check out David's Bridal website to see if there are any specials. They are usually $189...

Syringoma - Theories on what causes it by a girl who has it

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, December 1, 2014,
Note: To see 10 tips on using the Wart & Mole Vanish, see my most recent blog entry.  This entry below is just my theories on what caused my syringomas.

What is syringoma?

Syringoma look like milia but they don't go away. I've read that they are cholesterol deposits or little tumors. I've suffered from syringoma since I was in my early 20s  so it's been over 10 years.  I don't really know why I get them because none of my family members get them. I thought maybe they could be hereditary. There...

Grand Bohemiam Hotel in Asheville - Very Impressive

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, November 30, 2014,
My husband took me and my son to Asheville, NC for the first time for our 2 year wedding anniversary celebration. I've heard so much about Asheville and about the Biltmore Estate. When we went there, everything exceeded my expectations, especially our hotel stay at the Grand Bohemiam Hotel near the historic village. He bought the Romance package which included a massage, breakfast and champagne for two so I felt like a queen for a day!

Here are some pictures from our trip. It was very family ...

I broke my Droid phone today by accidentally running it over

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, July 28, 2014,
Thank God I had Google Picasa back up on my phone for the last few months because I accidentally ran over my phone with husband's truck today. I dropped it without knowing it and ran over it while I was backing out of the parking lot. What if I didn't set up that account before I did that? All of my photos would have been gone forever. I really suggest you all make sure you activate your Google Picasa account so that it links to your Google account if you have an Android phone. All of the pho...

World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia was a wonderful experience

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, June 15, 2014,
When we went to the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia, it became the highlight of my entire 4 day, 3 night stay! It felt like Disneyland. With the Coca Cola theme song playing in the background at all times, it really makes you realize what an amazing brand Coca Cola has been for over 100 years. There's so much nostalgia value. You learn the history and the invention of Cola Cola, how it turned into a big business and how it is now an international brand. You also get to try 65 flavors. ...

Yard House Atlanta - You call that a Spicy Tuna Roll?

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, In : Atlanta
We went to the Yard House in Atlanta to get home appetizers and cool down from the hot weather in June. They had the spicy tuna roll as one of their appetizers on their menu. I just want to warn you guys that it's not the typical Japanese spicy tuna roll that you would expect. See my picture below. It is a rather large entree so you could really just eat this as your meal. It was good but I think they put too much avocado in it. If you like that sort of thing, you might want to order it.

Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup Restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia - Sailorgirlfriend.com Review

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, June 9, 2014, In : Atlanta
We wanted to find a Vietnamese restaurant that was closest to the hotel that we were staying at in downtown and our map linked us to Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup (53 Broad St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303). It had good reviews and it was only within walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta. When we got there around 7pm, we've discovered that it had already closed. I guess a lot of the businesses on that street closes at 6pm or something for some reason?

Anyway, we tried the next day...

Lee's Bakery in Atlanta Georgia - Sailor Girlfriend Review

We went to Lee's Bakery (4005 Buford Hwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30345) for the first time when we were visiting the town. It was so busy. It took us 15 minutes before we were able to put in our orders. A lot of people dined in as well. They serve soups and Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches with the special offer of "Buy 5 get 1 Free" for those taking banh mis to go.

We ordered 2 special banh mi, 3 grilled pork and 1 grilled chicken. I do not recommend getting the grilled chicken. I highly recommend the ...

Canton House in Atlanta - Sailor Girlfriend Review

We needed to fulfill our dim sum craving so my husband looked on yelp for recommended dim sum in the Atlanta area. We headed to Canton House and we did not regret it. Their dim sum was delicious. Every thing was so fresh and service was attentive. The ladies here looked like they are always in a rush though. I recommend the shrimp rice rolls, pork siu mai, har cow for the novice but everything else tasted great too. Here are some pictures of the restaurant and our food below.

Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta & Legal Sea Foods - Sailor Girlfriend Review

We went to Atlanta for the first time earlier this month on our first family mini-vacation. We have a 4 month old son. My husband booked at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta (275 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313) for 2 nights and we had a very pleasant stay. They upgraded our room to the pent house level with a wonderful city view of downtown. Furthermore, they have a very delicious seafood restaurant that is attached to the property called Legal Sea Foods. See a collage of our hotel stay and ...

3 Things I Wish Someone Told Me About the First Months for a Baby

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, June 8, 2014, In : Motherhood
As a first time mother of a 4 month old baby, I've learned so many things about taking care of a baby. However, there are certain things I wish I knew so I could make a better decisions about some of these things early on.
1. Flat Heads
Every reading source and and health professional would tell me to put my baby on his back to prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). What they didn't tell me is that this can cause flat heads. I noticed my baby started getting a flat side on the back of hi...

How to remove the extra space on your watch band video

Here is a video of how I removed the extra space on my watch band for the first time below:

Things I've learned from being a CMT for Global Hyatt

When I was a senior and about to graduate from my university, I applied and got interviewed for a Corporate Management Trainee position for Global Hyatt. It's kind of like being an extern except you get paid anywhere between $30,000 and $35,000 a year (this was in 2006). You learn all the operations of every single department of a Hyatt hotel but your direct boss is the Human Resources Director. After being accepted, I was so thrilled. I actually had a plan after I graduated college. Only 1% ...

It's animated and sings one of my pop star's famous song: "baby baby". Yes, I am a Beiber fan. I like his music even though I don't like his personality. How many breastfeeding mothers get mastitis?

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, In : Motherhood
Happy Aoril Fool's Day! A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about mastitis and how I was admitted to ER for this painful infection in my right boob. Well, I thought about it some more today and wondered how many breast feeders get mastitis? Is it a high percentage? I tried to look for a study on that but couldn't locate it.

The hospital gave me antibiotics to treat it and it went away a few days after  but how did people treat it pre-antibiotic days? Did a lot of mothers die from it?

Extremely annoyed by my dog now that I have a newborn

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, April 1, 2014,
I feel guilty for feeling this way but it's the truth. I am extremely annoyed by my dog now. It started when I was pregnant. I would get really mad when he jumps on my belly because I was afraid he'll knock me over or hit too hard on the fetus. Even when I tell him no, he would do it so it got to the point where I had to become unfriendly to him so he doesn't try to do that to me when when I get home. That means I don't pet him anymore or play with him. Well, it worked while I was pregnant an...

Feeling like I was sexual abused by my lactation consultant

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Saturday, February 22, 2014, In : Motherhood
While I was pregnant with my son, I decided that I was going to breastfeed instead of using formula since so many medical professionals highly encouraged it. When my son was born, he latched onto my breasts right away and I felt like we had a good thing going on. On the second day, I got worried because his lips were getting really dry and that made me think I was not producing enough liquids from my breasts. We decided to see a lactation consultant the next day.

I'm not sure if it's because o...

Took me 6 days after Child Birth to Poop

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, February 13, 2014, In : pregnancy
The day finally came! I pooped! I gave birth 6 days ago and did not poop until today. The days up until this date has been brutal. I've been eating normally as well so I have no idea where all of that food is stored in my body. With the stitches down there and my nipples hurting from breastfeeding, this third problem made the last several days really uncomfortable.

So for those who has never given birth before, consider this a warning that you may not be able to poop for awhile! Fortunately, ...

I guess when I get to my 50s, I might be this way but as a 30 year old and being surrounded by a lot of 40s and 50 year olds, I noticed that old timers are not susceptible to change.

Interesting cravings during my third trimester

Sutton's Drug Store is a well known drug store/restaurant in Chapel Hill, NC near the University of North Carolina (UNC) campus where the tar heels roam the land. You've got to try it if you're visiting. They make great burgers. I am very surprised and it does make you feel odd if this is your first time coming here. Look at the p...

Chicken Pot Pie and Greens are an easy and cheap way to cook!

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I made chicken pot pie and collard greens for lunch today and it probably only all cost me $10 and it fed my husband and I twice! For chicken, I boiled 3 pieces of drumsticks the night before and then used frozen vegetables, canned cream of chicken, milk and some bisquick mix for the rest of the ingredients for the pot piece! It came out great. To make it a healthier meal, I sauteed some collard greens with salt and garlic as a side. My husband loved it!

Picture of bride with tattoo - Flaunt it, don't hide it.

Posted by Till Master on Friday, November 16, 2012,
Who says it's not proper to show your tattoo on your wedding day? It's part of who you are now so don't cover it in make-up. You can see my tattoo peeking out of chest in this dance with dance. Luckily, my family never asked if I was going to cover my tattoo because they are loving and understanding like that. Don't let anyone give you a hard time about this.

Do you count the bride and groom in the final head count to your caterer?

Posted by Till Master on Friday, October 12, 2012,
I am having our wedding reception at a hotel and my contract includes for 150 guests. Do we count ourselves, bride and groom in this number or is this usually complimentary since we are not the guest?

I sent my catering manager an email about this and they said our meals are not free so we have to include ourselves in the "guest count" for food. My friend said her reception at the country club said she didn't have to include herself and the groom in her count.

What was your experience?

Having a fiance waiting for me at home

Posted by Till Master on Monday, June 4, 2012,
A week ago, I started shacking up with my fiance. We found an apartment together and he moved into the place first, a week ahead of me and then I move in just this past weekend. This is the very first time I'm moving in with a guy lover. It's great so far. We save money on gas and time on planning because we live in the same home. It's a one bedroom one bathroom duplex and we have a shared yard space for our dog and the neighbor's dog.

The only thing I can complain is I'm a bit afraid of the ...

My sailor proposed to me on the night of April 14, 2012 in San Francisco

Posted by Till Master on Wednesday, April 18, 2012,
My sailor proposed to me in San Francisco over the weekend! Maybe I should have a Sailor Engagement website now? From girlfriend to engaged, it is great to see how the development of this site transitions with this new chapter in my life.

He knelt on one knee and asked me "Will you marry me" on the Municipal Pier near Ghirardelli Square. I knew we were going to get engaged but not this soon.  I was relieved with joy. Sometimes when you know that you're relationship is ready for the next level...

If you'd like to really surprise and make your lover or love ones feel special, order freshly chocolate-dipped strawberries and send it them. Whether it's for Valentine's Day, birthday, or just because you love them, no one can turn down these fresh fruit treats. I ordered my boyfriend's mom some freshly dipped cherries (instead of Strawberries because she loves cherries) from Shari's Berries and it brightened up her day. Save...
