COACH Pave Horse and Carriage Stud Earrings Review in Rosegold (Pink)

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, December 5, 2016,
See my review of COACH Pave Horse and Carriage Stud Earrings. They are asymmetrical so one earring is different from the other. One is the horse and the other is the carriage. They were available in gold or rosegold (pink) and I got the rose gold. They were regular price at $65 but I got them for 30% off on Black Friday. I think they were worth it even though it looked strange with one ear not looking like the other.

Diaper Cake for Baby Girls

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, November 3, 2015,
I made a diaper cake for the 2nd time and this time it is for a baby girl. I wanted to send a small congratulations gift to my friend in California after she just gave birth. Here is how it looks like.

Contents include: a pair of Espirit pink baby shoes (6-12 months), 3 bibs from Juicy Couture, 4 receiving blankets and 16 Size 1 Swaddler diapers.

Unfortunately, when my friend received this package, everything was unraveled so I suggest that you bind everything tightly and put a lot of bubble ...

Syringoma Removal Tips using Wart & Mole Vanish

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, May 14, 2015,
I started removing syringomas twice a year on my face 2 years ago. I've had syringomas since I was in my early 20s so it's been over a decade now. I used to wear make up a lot so I would cover them up but not really paid any attention to how they've really grown (in numbers and in size) over the years. I think that is something we girls often do; is that we focus so much more on the facade, our make up, that we forget about how to really take care of our own real skin.

I was on a road trip wi...

David's Bridal Wedding Gown Preservation Kit Review

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Wednesday, April 8, 2015,
Finally after two years from my wedding day, I've decided it's time to finally wash and preserve my wedding gown! I know it's gross that I didn't get it dry-cleaned right after my wedding, but it wasn't that dirty and I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars of getting it dry-cleaned when I can do that with David's Bridal for cheaper (plus get it preserved at the same time)!

Usually, I would go online and check out David's Bridal website to see if there are any specials. They are usually $189...

My son is 11 months old with 6 teeth and I am still breastfeeding

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Wednesday, January 14, 2015,
I can't believe I have been able to breastfeed my son for this long. It is the best gift. The benefits of his own mother's milk is undeniable. Because it has antibodies (unlike formula), my son's immune system is great and he hasn't gotten really sick yet! Knock on wood! Also, because mother's milk is organic, it's easy on his stomach and easily digestible. I can list about 10 more benefits but then this will really drag on. Today I am celebrating 11 months of being able to breastfeed my son....

View of downtown Charlotte from our Hyatt Place City Center hotel room

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, January 13, 2015,
Last month, we stayed at the Hyatt Place City Center in downtown Charlotte, NC for a night and it was a really great hotel. I was really impressed with its location and the rooftop restaurant in the building. This seems to be a higher end Hyatt Place, very comparable to a Hyatt Regency. I recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to stay with luxury in downtown Charlotte. It is also less than a mile from the Bank of America Stadium where the Carolina Panthers play football. The vie...

My baby son had eczema and I've tried 5 different creams but only 1 works

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, January 8, 2015,
When my son was about a couple of months old, he started getting eczema around his arms and legs. I was really worried that he was allergic to our dog. It was something I was very suspicious of because I am allergic to cats and some dogs.

He was born during the winter in South Carolina so his skin got really dry from the heater in our room and the cold outside. At the time, the only lotion I used was Johnson's baby lotion and after I would apply it on his skin, it would get so red. I was so s...

Divergent movie makes me feel proud to have tattoos

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, January 8, 2015,
Recently, I've read all three Divergent books (Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant) within a span of 6 days! I couldn't stop reading. They were so well written.

You can't help but think during the whole time how this applies to our current society with job roles. Some people are computer programmers while others are nurses, etc.

I particularly had a great pull towards the dauntless factor. I think many people reading the books would want to too. I like to think myself as brave. It also makes m...

Eating ice cream while nursing

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, December 16, 2014,
I've been craving a lot of ice cream lately. I have mint chocolate chip from Edy's and coffee flavor from Prestige in the freezer right now. Usually I don't eat much ice cream. Maybe only when I am out at the mall or at a restaurant on a rare occasion. However, lately I've been craving it and I wonder if it's my body telling me that I need more fat content to feed the baby?

My baby son is now 10 months old and I am still breastfeeding. He's been thinning out in the last couple of months becaus...

Syringoma - Theories on what causes it by a girl who has it

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, December 1, 2014,
Note: To see 10 tips on using the Wart & Mole Vanish, see my most recent blog entry.  This entry below is just my theories on what caused my syringomas.

What is syringoma?

Syringoma look like milia but they don't go away. I've read that they are cholesterol deposits or little tumors. I've suffered from syringoma since I was in my early 20s  so it's been over 10 years.  I don't really know why I get them because none of my family members get them. I thought maybe they could be hereditary. There...

Grand Bohemiam Hotel in Asheville - Very Impressive

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, November 30, 2014,
My husband took me and my son to Asheville, NC for the first time for our 2 year wedding anniversary celebration. I've heard so much about Asheville and about the Biltmore Estate. When we went there, everything exceeded my expectations, especially our hotel stay at the Grand Bohemiam Hotel near the historic village. He bought the Romance package which included a massage, breakfast and champagne for two so I felt like a queen for a day!

Here are some pictures from our trip. It was very family ...

Feeling burned out by real estate as an agent

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, July 29, 2014,
While I was pregnant with my son, I took a real estate class and got my license to become a REALTOR. I joined an agency and my wonderful office took me in and showed me the ropes. I got my license in October, gave birth in February (4 months after joining the agency) and am now just slowly getting back into it in July (5 months after giving birth). Even though I've been in real estate for only 9 months, I feel really burned out.

While I was pregnant, I showed some homes to a couple who were r...

Thank God I had Google Picasa back up on my phone for the last few months because I accidentally ran over my phone with husband's truck today. I dropped it without knowing it and ran over it while I was backing out of the parking lot. What if I didn't set up that account before I did that? All of my photos would have been gone forever. I really suggest you all make sure you activate your Google Picasa account so that it links to your Google account if you have an Android phone. All of the pho...

Nursing Pillow Review - Use Promo Code 4132E9 for Free Pillow for Moms

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, July 27, 2014, In : Motherhood
I bought this nursing pillow from nursingpillow.com a long time ago as a back up to the one I already have. This one is much softer but it is a bit smaller. I think it's good for petite women. Also I think it's only good for newborns. I used it on my 5.5 month old baby and it was too small for his to lay comfortably on the pillow. A regular pillow would work better if your baby is past the newborn stage. See my review below. Use promo code 4132E9 in the check out cart to get this for Free. Yo...

Losing a lot of hair 4 months after giving birth

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, In : Motherhood
Around 4 months after giving birth, I noticed a lot of hair from my head is falling out every time I finished showering and combing my hair. I was really worried. I wondered if it's because I lost my pregnancy weight so fast? I am also breastfeeding so I thought maybe it's because a lot of the nutrients is going to the baby during this time through my breast milk.

Then I asked my friend who has two kids if she went through the same thing. She said she did and that the doctor told her that 80%...

Another 7-7 birthday (July 7)

I was born on July 7 so I legitimately have a reason why 7 is my lucky number. Sorry I just had to said that. It's okay if other people want to claim that number too but I'm still going to be a snob about it.

Today is July 1 and it is officially my birthday month. I usually treat myself with some online shopping and take advantage of the 4th of July sales going on. I also take advantage of the discount and free coupons in my emails for my birthday. It pays to join rewards.

2 siblings who passed away in the same week

I have a wonderful boss. She is like another mother who I wish was my own. She took me under her right wing and treats me like family. She gave me my own office and made sure I was set up to succeed.

Well, this week, 2 of her siblings died unexpectedly. As she was flying to another state to attend her sister's funeral, her brother passed away. I couldn't even imagine it. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about it. I've already sent my condolences earlier this week when her sister passed away...

When we went to the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia, it became the highlight of my entire 4 day, 3 night stay! It felt like Disneyland. Yard House Atlanta - You call that a Spicy Tuna Roll?

I just want to warn you guys that it's not the typical Japanese spicy tuna roll that you would expect. See my picture below. It is a rather large entree so you could really just eat this as your meal. It was good but I think they put too much avocado in it. If you like that sort of thing, you might want to order it.

Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup Restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia - Sailorgirlfriend.com Review

We wanted to find a Vietnamese restaurant that was closest to the hotel that we were staying at in downtown and our map linked us to Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup (53 Broad St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303). It had good reviews and it was only within walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta. When we got there around 7pm, we've discovered that it had already closed. I guess a lot of the businesses on that street closes at 6pm or something for some reason?

3 Things I Wish Someone Told Me About the First Months for a Baby

As a first time mother of a 4 month old baby, I've learned so many things about taking care of a baby. However, there are certain things I wish I knew so I could make a better decisions about some of these things early on.
1. Flat Heads

How to remove the extra space on your watch band video

Things you gladfully gave up after giving birth to a baby

My newborn is no longer a newborn now that he is 3 months old so I've been doing some reflecting. A lot has changed about me, from my hair to my way of thinking. Here are some obvious things I gave up after giving birth to a baby, and these are things many moms have done:

How do I tell a family member to not post pictures of my baby

Using Vitamin E Oil to help with baby's dried eyelids and rubbing

My newborn is 2 months and 3 weeks old and he has been consistently rubbing his eyelids. He rubs his left one more than his right so his left one is really swollen and red. It doesn't look as bad if he doesn't rub it for awhile but then it gets swollen again once he rubs it. I've tried putting petroleum jelly on his eyelids to see if that helps heal it faster but I think his constant rubbing is preventing it from getting better.

This morning I tried something different and swaddled him while ...

10 simple things that is now a luxury for a breastfeeding mother

It seems like nowadays, breastfeeding and pumping are consuming most of my time. Ever since I had mastitis (see older blog post), I have been religiously pumping every 3-5 hours (depending on how much my son fed from my breasts) so that I don't get too engorged and feel pain again. Between diaper changes, feeding, comforting the baby when it's fussy time, bath time and comforting him to sleep, pumping is my #1 priority for any free time I have. Here are the things I miss since giving birth to...

How many breastfeeding mothers get mastitis?

Happy Aoril Fool's Day! A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about mastitis and how I was admitted to ER for this painful infection in my right boob. Well, I thought about it some more today and wondered how many breast feeders get mastitis? Is it a high percentage? I tried to look for a study on that but couldn't locate it.

The hospital gave me antibiotics to treat it and it went away a few days after  but how did people treat it pre-antibiotic days? Did a lot of mothers die from it?

I'm glad I'm ...

Posted by SailorGirlfriend.com on Monday, February 3, 2014, In : pregnancy
I'm 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant today and my mucous plug started showing this morning when I went to the bathroom. At first, I was really excited and frantically went to find my baby book to see what this meant. It said that it's a sign that I am going into labor soon. That could be tomorrow or 2 weeks later. I texted my husband while he was at work right away just in case something happens sooner than later so he can be prepared to tell his work.

Since Valentine's Day is also next week, I f...

37 weeks and 4 days pregnant and my nose is growing bigger

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, January 26, 2014, In : pregnancy
My husband and I decided to not take professional maternity photos for my pregnancy. It was due to a combination of forgetting, delaying and not wanting to spend money for pictures of my unattractive big belly. I figured I'd just wait for my child to be born to take family photos.

Anyway, since I am growing very massive today at 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant and there is a chance that the baby might arrive earlier than expected, I decided to take some selfies. People say that your nose grows w...

Many old timers are not susceptible to change

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Saturday, January 25, 2014,
I guess when I get to my 50s, I might be this way but as a 30 year old and being surrounded by a lot of 40s and 50 year olds, I noticed that old timers are not susceptible to change.

With new technology, there is always going to be new tools introduced to an industry. Not only old timers don't accept the new processes easily, they even outwardly complain. They have no problem or shame and voices their frustration even before the process and changes have happened.

Anyone experienced the same t...

I always get sleepy within 30 minutes after taking my prenatal vitamins

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Saturday, January 18, 2014, In : pregnancy
I was prescribed prenatal vitamins after the doctor confirmed that I was pregnant in June. It has folic acid which is supposed to be really good for expectant mothers. For some reason, I always get really tired and sleepy after I take them. I started taking them every day at the beginning and I would just get so tired, I couldn't do anything else but sleep. However, every time I would forget to pop one in my mouth, I wouldn't be tired that day. Then, I started to just switch off every other d...

Interesting cravings during my third trimester

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Friday, January 17, 2014, In : pregnancy
I'm on my third trimester and I still crave the bad things like a Big Mac Combo Meal and an orange soda but I also crave the healthy stuff here and there as well. While my husband and I went to the grocery store, I really wanted some grapes and got myself a block of cheese as well. When I got home, I started putting some grapes and a piece of cheese on my small plate and thought a piece of sesame toast and a spoonful of peanut butter would go well with my snack. It was about 8pm when I was pu...

Unemployment Benefits if you Quit Your Job as a Military Wife due to Relocation

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, January 13, 2014,
When I moved from California to South Carolina due to my husband's contract with the navy ending and he found a new job in a different state, I had to quit my job. After sadly turning in my resignation letter after 6 years of working for the company and taking a couple of weeks to move, someone asked me if I had put in my unemployment claim because I was a military wife.

I didn't think I was eligible because I voluntarily quit. But because I had to quit due to my military spouse's job situati...

Moles growing bigger and skin tags appearing during pregnancy

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Monday, January 13, 2014, In : pregnancy
I've never had skin tags before I was pregnant so when I started noticing these things on my neck, I was petrified. I also noticed a mole that I've always had on my butt grew significantly larger. All of these skin changes were really making me worried so I started digging around the internet and they said that some women have these growths during pregnancy. Sometimes they go away after birth and sometimes they don't.

I'm planning on going to see a dermatologist after I give birth to get my m...

I really hate my mom.

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Saturday, January 4, 2014,
I'm 30 years old and I hate my mom. Trust me, she gave me very many valid reasons to feel this way. Although I would never tell her in front of her face, the truth is, I don't really like being around her.

My mom is a bully. She bullies everyone I know and it's always the "my way or the highway" mentality for her. She was also never supportive of my education and dreams. She always wants me to quit everything that I'm doing because she thinks it's never good enough. When I was working on my B...

The day before New Year's Eve, I was so bummed out when I found out that one of my friends was throwing a party and that I couldn't celebrate with them because I lived so far away. It made me really home sick. They are thousands of miles away.

But then when New Year's Eve came, I was already tired by 8pm. How could I possibly stay up and party anyway if I were still in San Diego? I would not have had much fun and would not be of good company to any of my friends since they are not pregnant an...

Thankful for my husband wanting to go to all prenatal doctor visits

My husband has been very supportive and always wants to go to my doctor visits with me. It's reassuring to him as well, to see the ultrasounds, hear the heart beats and making sure I'm healthy and nothing is wrong, directly from the doctors themselv...

Best part about having a leftover turkey is making sandwiches the next day

This year, Christmas is wonderfully quiet because I'm 8 months pregnant and not advised to travel. Plus, my husband has to work overtime so we had 2 great excuses to not have to drive far to see family. I love seeing family but after such a busy Thanksgiving week, this pr...

I'm almost 33 weeks pregnant and I currently go to the office 4-5 days a week to work. I recently became a real estate agent because marketing positions are slim here in my town. I started going to real estate school when I was about 3 months pregnant and after I received my real estate license, I started working for a real estate office when I was 5 months pregnant.

Baby moving inside of you is like growing an alien

Ever since the baby started moving inside of my stomach around 4 months, I started thinking that maybe there isn't enough room for him in there.

Now that I am at 5.5 months, I can feel the baby moving constantly. And recently when I was in one of my post-licensing class for real estate, I would see a ripple across my belly as I was sitting in class. It was a bit freaky but I guess the baby was bored. Sitting down in class for 8 hours isn't that fun and I'm usually moving about when I am at ho...

When I found out I was pregnant, I cut out alcohol, caffeine and tried to stay far away from people who smoke cigarettes as much as possible.

I must admit, I did have decaffeinated coffee once on a plane and had a few sips from my husband's coke. But that was all. I don't miss drinking alcohol at all but I do miss drinking my caramel frappucino from Starbucks. I've been drinking those since I was in college, or was it late high school? Anyway, I miss my coffee.

Now that I am 4 months pregnant, I realized I need to be prepared for people trying to touch my pregnant belly as my stomach gets more noticeably bigger. I traveled to California for a wedding last week and my father used his two fingers to poke at my belly. I hope that it's not weird that I found it disgusting that he did that to me. I'm not a touchy feely type of a person and never had an affectionate relationship with my father so I was really surprised that he even thought of doing that. ...

This is my very first pregnancy and ever since the first trimester, I have not been craving meat. It actually made me really nauseous thinking about eating meat so I stayed away from it as much as possible. The things I do crave are cereal with milk, ice cream, cheese, salads and fruits. Occasionally I'll crave some ramen noodles with a crack of an egg. It's kind of an easy egg drop soup for me. I feel like I'm becoming more of a vegetarian since I've gotten pregnant. Now, as a native San Diegan, I don't see snow often so when I saw snowing falling a lot for the first time, I was ecstatic! I was also very intrigued by how the trees looked with snow on top. I must say, it does give me this sense of serenity when I see this. I really do enjoy it, just as long as I don't have drive in the snow often.

Golden Corral instead of Hometown Buffet in North Carolina

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
In North Carolina when I was visiting, Golden Corral was the more popular thing than Hometown Buffet for the area and I went for my very first time at 29 years old. My grandpa in law took me here and it was delicious! I can see why he raves about this place! There is so much food. There is no way you can try everything! They have a nice salad bar, bbq section, chocolate fountain in the dessert section and also an Chinese section with Chinese food. It was unbelievable!

Chicken Pot Pie and Greens are an easy and cheap way to cook!

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I made chicken pot pie and collard greens for lunch today and it probably only all cost me $10 and it fed my husband and I twice! For chicken, I boiled 3 pieces of drumsticks the night before and then used frozen vegetables, canned cream of chicken, milk and some bisquick mix for the rest of the ingredients for the pot piece! It came out great. To make it a healthier meal, I sauteed some collard greens with salt and garlic as a side. My husband loved it!

Collards Greens are popular in the south!

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I just moved to South Carolina from California and I've noticed that they really promote, advertise collard greens in the grocery stores! Everyone eats them regularly here. You'll see them at buffet lines often too. Of course this whole experience is new to me but I do learn to adapt and bought my first bag of collard greens. I've got to say it's a big bunch too. I got this for $1.50!

What I've noticed with collard greens compared to my usual greens like napa cabbage and spinach is that they ...

Piggly Wiggly, Grocery Stores in South Carolina - My first experience

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I am so impressed by my first trip to Piggly Wiggly in Florence, SC. Everyone is so friendly who works there and they send us coupons in the mail for free items to shop there. I am from California and we don't have Piggly Wigglys there so I was very amused by a name of a grocery store named this. I will tell you that I favor this over Food Lion, even though Food Lion is closer!

First time going to the indoor Florence Mall in Florence, SC

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I went to the mall in Florence, SC for the first time a few days ago and for a little town, I was really impressed. It's a indoor mall so the weather can be crappy outside, but you can still come inside in the warm indoors to shop. There is also a lot of restaurants inside and outside near the area. If you are just passing by the city or staying for the night. Stay near the mall. See all hotels in Florence, SC.

Things from the South that I don't see in Southern California

Posted by Till Master on Thursday, January 24, 2013,
There is so much about the South that fascinates me. So far, for the 3 weeks I've lived in the South, these are things I noticed that the South has a lot that West Coasters don't typically see:

Everyone calls me "ma'am"
Grits
Country ham
BBQ
Cafeteria
Piggy Wiggly
Food Lion

Moving from San Diego, Ca to South Carolina

Posted by Till Master on Monday, January 21, 2013,
My sailor and I recently moved to South Carolina from San Diego, Ca and I tell you, sometimes you will find bad weather, impatience, and being tired from the car ride, delaying your trip. It took us 5.5 days and that's because we slept every night and never drove more than 10 hours a day.

We also had a dog with us so we always make sure to walk him when we're also ready to make a stop as well.

Before you start your trip, make sure you pack a working flashlight, 2 warm blankets in case hotels ar...

Rehearsal Dinner invitations

Posted by Till Master - Sailor Girlfriend on Tuesday, December 11, 2012,
I made two different versions for my rehearsal dinner invitations. The ones for the bridal party also include the rehearsal time and place of the rehearsal along with dinner. Whereas, the ones that were mailed to just out of town guests (not part of bridal party and do not need to attend rehearsal) get a simpler piece.

Here is my wedding party rehearsal dinner invitations. We used our engagement photos to spruce it up! Actual size is 3 times bigger than the image below.

Picture of bride with tattoo - Flaunt it, don't hide it.

Posted by Till Master on Friday, November 16, 2012,
Who says it's not proper to show your tattoo on your wedding day? It's part of who you are now so don't cover it in make-up. You can see my tattoo peeking out of chest in this dance with dance. Luckily, my family never asked if I was going to cover my tattoo because they are loving and understanding like that. Don't let anyone give you a hard time about this.

Wedding Welcome Bags - I did it myself

Posted by Till Master on Thursday, November 15, 2012,
Hi guys,

We did it! We got married and the grand ceremony and reception were exceptionally successful!

One week before our out of towners were coming in, I created welcome bags printing labels at home and sticking them on brown gift bags with tissue paper.

In the welcome bags, I had a bottle of iced tea, a bottle of Powerade, some snacks like oreos, trail mix, cheezit and granola bars to make their stay more comfortable.

I tried to decorate the bags that are my wedding colors. See pictures bel...

Kid's menu stickers that I am putting on place cards for wedding

Posted by Till Master on Wednesday, October 17, 2012,
I was sitting here looking at some marketing tools online and then discovered, why don't I put a cute sticker on the back of the place cards for all of the kids who are coming to my wedding so they feel special!? Kids love stickers right?!

I've never seen it done before. I've already printed out menus for the adult meals and now I'm printing the menu on the stickers.

I hope they'll like it!

Here is the sticker design:

I'll take a picture of the place card with it once the stickers have arrived...

Showing tattoo on your wedding day

Posted by Till Master on Friday, October 12, 2012,
My make up artist and some friends asked me if I will be covering my tattoo on my chest on my wedding with make up. I told them 'no'. I got this tattoo for a reason and I will not hide it.

Do you get asked that question? Do you have a tattoo?

My fiance said he doesn't want me to hid anything and that he wouldn't like it if I decided to I hide my tattoo because that a part of who I am now. He doesn't like secrets and that is why we are together. We have the same viewpoints.

Birdcage vs. veil vs. no headpiece

Posted by Till Master on Friday, October 12, 2012,
I debated whether I wanted a veil after I tried on some wedding gowns with it in May. I didn't like the way I looked with it because I'm already so short but now I'm debating on it again for my last fitting later this month at David's Bridal.

I have little kids there who probably appreciate that. My cousin's daughter is so excited about my wedding, she keeps my wedding invitation in her purse. That is so cute.

Then I debated on having a birdcage but ever since Lady Gaga appears with birdcages ...

Do you count the bride and groom in the final head count to your caterer?

Posted by Till Master on Friday, October 12, 2012,
I am having our wedding reception at a hotel and my contract includes for 150 guests. Do we count ourselves, bride and groom in this number or is this usually complimentary since we are not the guest?

I sent my catering manager an email about this and they said our meals are not free so we have to include ourselves in the "guest count" for food. My friend said her reception at the country club said she didn't have to include herself and the groom in her count.

What was your experience?

Sweetheart or head table for wedding?

Posted by Till Master on Friday, October 12, 2012,
At the beginning of our wedding planning stages, after we've secured a deposit for the venue, I originally wanted a head table because I thought it would be nice to not be just us getting the attention. I'm not very good at that.

Then I thought about it some more and a lot of people in our bridal party have significant others and I don't want to separate them from their dates so now we've decided to have a sweetheart table.

What did you guys do? Did anybody have a head table that worked reall...

While I am planning this wedding with my mom, I realized there are some things we don't agree on and then there are others that we completely agree on that no one seems to.

I've decided to put my hair up for my wedding because it's more elegant and my mom agreed. I also told her I don't want to wear necklaces and just big earrings and she told me she likes to do that too. She doesn't like to wear necklaces.

Wow. I am turning into my mom. Are you?

What accessories are you wearing for your wedding? No veil for me.

Posted by Till Master on Monday, September 17, 2012, In : bride accessories
I am going to be a bride and just recently bought my first accessory for my dress, my shoes. What other accessories did you wear or planning on wearing for your wedding?

I don't plan on wearing veil because when I tried my dress on with the veil, it looked too much and cluttered. I'm also really short so it just looks big on me.

I bought a brioche for my hair for almost $60 with a gift card I received from my bridal shower and now am debating on wearing that or not as well. I'm really simple ...

My bridemaids planned the best bachelorette party weekend for me!

Posted by Till Master on Thursday, August 30, 2012,
I truly have the best friends ever! My bachelorette party just happened over the weekend from Aug. 24- 26, 2012.

I told my bridal party that I'd be happy with just a slumber party for my bachelorette party and they turned it into a full weekend. They refused to let me pay for anything and booked at a high end hotel called Hotel Del Coronado for 3 days and 2 nights. They decorated the room, surprised me to yoga on the beach with a hired instructor and rented a limo to take me to a nightclub on...

I learned a new word: Cummerbund (Cumberbund) and picture of what it is

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, August 14, 2012,
My fiance is looking for his tuxedo for the wedding and we've settled on a bowtie and cumberbund for his al fit instead of wearing a vest. This is the very first time I've heard of the word cumberbund and it's quite a fun word. If you want to know how it looks like, see image of the one I took. He's not wearing suspenders with his al fit, just a bowtie and cumberbund. I think it's actually spelt like cummerbund. The guy wear it around the waist.

Having a fiance waiting for me at home

Posted by Till Master on Monday, June 4, 2012,
A week ago, I started shacking up with my fiance. We found an apartment together and he moved into the place first, a week ahead of me and then I move in just this past weekend. This is the very first time I'm moving in with a guy lover. It's great so far. We save money on gas and time on planning because we live in the same home. He knelt on one knee and asked me "Will you marry me" on the Municipal Pier near Ghirardelli Square. I knew we were going to get engaged but not this soon.  I was relieved with joy. Sometimes when you know that you're relationship is ready for the next level...
