Eating ice cream while nursing

Posted by on Tuesday, December 16, 2014,
I've been craving a lot of ice cream lately. I have mint chocolate chip from Edy's and coffee flavor from Prestige in the freezer right now. Usually I don't eat much ice cream. Maybe only when I am out at the mall or at a restaurant on a rare occasion. However, lately I've been craving it and I wonder if it's my body telling me that I need more fat content to feed the baby?

My baby son is now 10 months old and I am still breastfeeding. He's been thinning out in the last couple of months becaus...

Things I've learned from being a CMT for Global Hyatt

Posted by on Thursday, May 22, 2014,
When I was a senior and about to graduate from my university, I applied and got interviewed for a Corporate Management Trainee position for Global Hyatt. It's kind of like being an extern except you get paid anywhere between $30,000 and $35,000 a year (this was in 2006). You learn all the operations of every single department of a Hyatt hotel but your direct boss is the Human Resources Director. After being accepted, I was so thrilled. I actually had a plan after I graduated college. Only 1% ...

Things you gladfully gave up after giving birth to a baby

Posted by on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, In : Motherhood
My newborn is no longer a newborn now that he is 3 months old so I've been doing some reflecting. A lot has changed about me, from my hair to my way of thinking. I put him first before my needs and I am glad to do it. I just want him to grow up happy and strong. Here are some obvious things I gave up after giving birth to a baby, and these are things many moms have done:

  • I no longer have long hair. I now understand why so many moms get a bob after giving birth. My baby is getting to the point ...

People love pregnant women

Posted by on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, In : Motherhood
I realized quickly that when someone finds out that I am pregnant, they all of a sudden become very interested in me. Something about carrying a child makes you seem more approachable to a lot of people. When people know you are going to become a mother, maybe that nurturing side comes out.

Saving money by covering worn out office arm chairs with felt

Posted by on Thursday, October 24, 2013,
I recently got a new office with a real estate company and they provided me with a desk, cabinet, and guest chairs but I needed an office chair for myself. I have an old office chair from home but the vinyl on the arm chairs are worn out. Everything else looked fine. I decided to save money and just cover the arm chairs.

I went to Joann's to look for some materials and decided on getting a piece of black felt from the store and using the bond glue I already I had at home. It costs me $.25. If...

Bought a flight and then flights are cheaper the next month?

Posted by on Saturday, May 11, 2013,
Have you ever booked a flight 5 months ahead of time for your trip and then it goes down a month later? Is 5 months too early to buy a flight for a good deal? I am trying to find a flight to Washington DC for October but prices are kind of high right now. I wonder if it'll go down in a couple of weeks or months?

Piggly Wiggly, Grocery Stores in South Carolina - My first experience

Posted by Till Master on Tuesday, January 29, 2013,
I am so impressed by my first trip to Piggly Wiggly in Florence, SC. Everyone is so friendly who works there and they send us coupons in the mail for free items to shop there. I am from California and we don't have Piggly Wigglys there so I was very amused by a name of a grocery store named this. I will tell you that I favor this over Food Lion, even though Food Lion is closer!

Moving from San Diego, Ca to South Carolina

Posted by Till Master on Monday, January 21, 2013,
My sailor and I recently moved to South Carolina from San Diego, Ca and I tell you, sometimes you will find bad weather, impatience, and being tired from the car ride, delaying your trip. It took us 5.5 days and that's because we slept every night and never drove more than 10 hours a day.

We also had a dog with us so we always make sure to walk him when we're also ready to make a stop as well.

Before you start your trip, make sure you pack a working flashlight, 2 warm blankets in case hotels ar...

I'm so happy. When I got home, I can't wait to see what the invitations looks like inside the boxes! We ordered and customized them from the internet so to hold them in our hands is so neat! I think David's Bridal nicely packaged them! They were inside 5 different sized boxes for each of the items. See photos below.
