Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup Restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia - Review

Posted by on Monday, June 9, 2014, In : Atlanta
We wanted to find a Vietnamese restaurant that was closest to the hotel that we were staying at in downtown and our map linked us to Dua Vietnamese Noodle Soup (53 Broad St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303). It had good reviews and it was only within walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta. When we got there around 7pm, we've discovered that it had already closed. I guess a lot of the businesses on that street closes at 6pm or something for some reason?

Anyway, we tried the next day...

Lee's Bakery in Atlanta Georgia - Sailor Girlfriend Review

Posted by on Sunday, June 8, 2014, In : Atlanta
We went to Lee's Bakery (4005 Buford Hwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30345) for the first time when we were visiting the town. It was so busy. It took us 15 minutes before we were able to put in our orders. We went to Washington DC in October and even though it was a bit chilly and cloudy, it didn't rain so we were able to do some touristy stuff while we were in the area for a wedding.

I definitely recommend going to the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall since they are right next to each other.

Posted by on Saturday, July 6, 2013,

A couple of years ago, my coworker asked me if I had something done to my eyes to get double eyelids. I was so shocked that she asked me that?!!! No one has ever asked me such a weird question about my looks before so I was caught by surprise, especially in a work setting. I was like "No, do people do that?"

She said "yea, a lot of Asians do it". I thought maybe she was being racist but the other times, she's really nice to me so I try to brush it off and can't blame her for being ignorant if ...

Cooking with stuffed squid is creative and delicious

Posted by on Wednesday, May 29, 2013,
My parents were originally from Vietnam so I grow up in America eating a lot of Vietnamese food. One of the dishes my mom would make is "muc don thit" which is stuffed squid. She usually uses ground pork as stuffing. For this dish, I used ground chicken that I found at Food Lion. I also added some smoked sausages in the dish to give it a bit of spice. The squids look cute all stuffed up. Although some may not like squid, it's very delicious once you get used to the texture. We usually use too...
