Very exhausted at 38 weeks pregnant and mucous plug started showing

Posted by on Monday, February 3, 2014 Under: pregnancy
I'm 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant today and my mucous plug started showing this morning when I went to the bathroom. At first, I was really excited and frantically went to find my baby book to see what this meant. It said that it's a sign that I am going into labor soon. That could be tomorrow or 2 weeks later. I texted my husband while he was at work right away just in case something happens sooner than later so he can be prepared to tell his work.

Since Valentine's Day is also next week, I figured I should go shopping today because once the baby comes, I will not have the time and energy to find a gift for my dear husband. After finding the gifts I wanted to buy, I went home and wrapped them right away but I didn't write in the card yet because I always write in my cards the very day before I plan to send them out or give them to the person. That way, it'll truly reflect how I feel about them with all of the life events that has happened until that point.

After wrapping the gifts, I lied down and all of a sudden, I felt really EXHAUSTED! I read somewhere that some women go into nesting mode when they know their baby is coming soon but I don't have that at all. The dishes are clean and the bathrooms are somewhat clean so I guess that's maybe why? I'm not a neat freak either and things don't have to be dust-free. We do have a dog so I am used to seeing dog hair every where. We have all the essentials for the baby room like the crib, car seat, stroller, clothes, diapers and wipes but we have boxes every where and that doesn't bother me one bit. I figured our baby will be lying in the room in our bassinet for the first 3 months so we have a lot of time to get the room neat before then when he gets here.

Did you get exhausted a couple of weeks before labor? When did your mucous plug start to show? Did you have a nesting phase like some other women did?
