David's Bridal Wedding Gown Preservation Kit Review

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Wedding
Finally after two years from my wedding day, I've decided it's time to finally wash and preserve my wedding gown! I know it's gross that I didn't get it dry-cleaned right after my wedding, but it wasn't that dirty and I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars of getting it dry-cleaned when I can do that with David's Bridal for cheaper (plus get it preserved at the same time)!

Usually, I would go online and check out David's Bridal website to see if there are any special. The kits are available...

Wearing wedding ring on the left hand and wearing engagement ring on the right hand or both on one hand?

Posted by SailorGirlfriend.com on Saturday, May 4, 2013, In : Wedding
Recently, I've been pondering about wearing my wedding ring on my left hand and wearing my engagement ring on my right hand. I'm trying to think if anyone else has done that. Most of my friends and colleagues wear both their wedding ring and engagement ring on the left ring finger. I've been doing this for the last 6 months (since I got married) as well. However, I feel like my engagement ring looks better by itself. It also reminds me of when he proposed and that was a great memory. My rings...

Flowers in Real Seashells as table centerpieces goes great with a beach theme

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Sunday, March 3, 2013, In : Wedding
Having a beach theme wedding is very appropriate when your wedding is by the water, literally. Instead of having a high centerpiece, where it's hard to talk to the person right across from you at dinner, have a small centerpiece that matches the theme. With your matching flowers inside the seashell, it will still wow the guests and make them comfortable to look around the room. Ask if your florist can do this. This was on a bar table but they were also on the dinner tables with 3 candles surr...

My maid of honor and matron of honor decorated my car in secret while my make up artist was working on my face

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Friday, November 16, 2012, In : Wedding
7 days after parking our car at the airport for our honeymoon, there were at least 100 bird poops on our car. My cousin in law says it's good luck.

Birdcage vs. veil vs. no headpiece

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Friday, October 12, 2012, In : Wedding
I debated whether I wanted a veil after I tried on some wedding gowns with it in May. I didn't like the way I looked with it because I'm already so short but now I'm debating on it again for my last fitting later this month at David's Bridal.

I have little kids there who probably appreciate that. My cousin's daughter is so excited about my wedding, she keeps my wedding invitation in her purse. That is so cute.

Then I debated on having a birdcage but ever since Lady Gaga appears with birdcages ...

Stressed out Bride-to-be - How to cope

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, October 4, 2012, In : Wedding
I am at the one month mark before my wedding takes place and I am so stressed out.

I have contacted all of my vendors (either called or emailed them) for the last three days to confirm when they'll be at my wedding site and am finishing up last projects in the next week.

My last projects include having my last hair trial, decorating party favors and completing seating chart/guest list for place cards.

Here's how I'm coping with my stress with now.
1. Venting to my fiance. He's been so understan...

I learned a new word: Cummerbund (Cumberbund) and picture of what it is

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, In : Wedding
My fiance is looking for his tuxedo for the wedding and we've settled on a bowtie and cumberbund for his al fit instead of wearing a vest. This is the very first time I've heard of the word cumberbund and it's quite a fun word. If you want to know how it looks like, see image of the one I took. He's not wearing suspenders with his al fit, just a bowtie and cumberbund. I think it's actually spelt like cummerbund. The guy wears it around the waist.

Planning a Bachelorette Party for my friend

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, In : Wedding
My friend is actually getting married as well and she asked me to be the organizer of her bachelorette party. It was a 3 day 2 night event in Las Vegas with a scavenger hunt and pool day with a lot of partying. It was a success!

We decorated her room before she arrived. Here are some pictures from the trip:

I put the names of everyone who's attending on a cup.

We stayed at the MGM Grand. They recently renovated and our room was very feminine!

To find a room see details on MGM Grand.

Wedding invitations from David's Bridal came in the mail last week

Posted by Sailorgirlfriend.com on Thursday, July 19, 2012, In : Wedding
I'm so happy. When I got home, I can't wait to see what the invitations looks like inside the boxes! We ordered and customized them from the internet so to hold them in our hands is so neat! I think David's Bridal nicely packaged them! They were inside 5 different sized boxes for each of the items. See photos below.
